The aim of this paper is to analyze the use of the eELP (Electronic European Language Portfolio) for linguistic and strategic learning. This study was conducted in the Official Languages School in Alicante (Spain) in two groups of German students of B1.1-level. Moreover, the validity of e-PEL is studied as a tool for formative and summative evaluation. It has been observed that the performance of the Experimental Group registered a slight improvement, compared to the Control Group. We conclude, therefore, that from the educational point of view the e-PEL is beneficial for learning. However, improvements are needed in the management and publication of samples of learning and in the interaction with other users, as well as with the access from mobile devices through applications.
